The Nexter FAMAS is an Assault Rifle for the Medic and the Engineer in the first 2 games.
Description
Strike Force Heroes
The Famas is relatively good. However, its biggest drawback (or feature, depending on your play style) is that it is semi-automatic, which means it can only discharge one round per click, as opposed to other Assault Rifles. However, despite this, it can still dispatch enemies with ease as its fire cap is very high, and so is its damage. It is unlocked at Level 6 and costs $225 to obtain. It is semi-automatic, and it is the third weapon that the Medic can use.
Strike Force Heroes 2
The Strike Force Heroes 2 version is instead wielded by the Engineer. It trades single-fire for a burst fire mode, firing three rounds per second. That's really the only noteworthy thing about it; It's other stats are so-so, and it's not impossible to find weapons better than it in every regard, such as the QBZ 95. Nathan wields one in the campaign, equipped with a HAMR.
Tactics
SFH
Its 80% accuracy allows the user to easily aim for headshots. It can be swapped for the Dragon, which has the same stats, only better. It has a high range too, so use the most of this weapon.
SFH2
The Famas is good as a mid-range weapon, with a longer range than most assault rifles yet damage output is rather low. It is recommended to aim for headshots.

Trivia
- The FAMAS stands for "Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes Saint-Etienne", which means "Assault rifle from the Saint-Etienne weapon factory" in English.
- This weapon is almost exactly the same as the AUG HBAR.
- Neither the Strike Force Heroes or Strike Force Heroes 2 versions of this weapon take advantage of the real-life FAMAS' insane rate of fire; Real life FAMAS rifles have the mind boggling fire rate of 1000 rounds per minute, yet every single incarnation in the series has either been single fire or burst fire.
